Antonia Lofaso
Antonia's Lofaso invites guests to look into her soul through her cuisine. She developed a curiousity about food when she moved from suburban Long Island to the diverse cultural landscape that is Los Angeles. Each of her dishes is created by her own idea of the future while also retaining a nostalgic yearning for the past. Inspired by her heritage as an Italian-American, Lofaso launched Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 that was highly acclaimed. Lofaso's old-school Italian style is widely considered to be to be one among Los Angeles' most captivating restaurants. The food at Lofaso is always authentic, inviting and satiating. Lofaso was a student of legendary chefs and learned their sophisticate techniques but she was not afraid to make bold decisions for her sense of self. She quickly rose through the ranks at Wolfgang Puck's Spago and then went on to revamp several high-profile kitchens of Los Angeles while working closely with a variety of famous celebrities. The year 2011 was the year that Lofaso worked with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi in the launch of Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. Lofaso has found her home within Black Market, and through the partnerships that she created. Lofaso was able to enjoy the freedom to express her creativity that she desired through this collaboration. Black Market is not constrained by one definitive direction and that's the goal. Her talents continue to be highlighted in her role as a judge on the CNBC show Restaurant Startup. In 2012 Lofaso was a part of Penguin for the release of"The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 recipes for quick Delicious homemade Meals and tells about the struggles she faced while attending the prestigious French Culinary Institute, and simultaneously raising her daughter Xea. Lofaso claims that her enthusiasm for cooking is the key force behind her achievements. She is always on top of things with a keen eye on trends and fashion. She has revolutionized the industry's design by creating chef's wear to be functional and stylish by launching her brand Chefletics. What matters to Lofaso is staying true to the vision you have set.
