Rachel Keller

RachelRachel Keller is a fictionalized character from The Ring movie series. The fictional character of Rachel Keller was created by Ehren Kruger. Naomi Watts plays the role. Rachel must dig into the past of Samara Morgan after her son is diagnosed with a mysterious illness. Ruth asks Rachel Keller who is an investigative journalist, to find out the truth behind Katie's death. Rachel is told by her sister Ruth that she discovered Katie's deformed body in the closet. She also discovered that Katie died of an attack on her heart. Katie's friends share with Rachel the story of the legend of the cursed tape and Katie's friend Becca being institutionalized for witnessing Katie lose her life. Rachel also discovers Katie's boyfriend as well as two of her acquaintances died in bizarre accidents on the same night , at around 10 pm. Rachel goes to Shelter Mountain Inn, where she stays in Cabin 12. This cabin is one Katie and her friends saw the tape that was cursed. Rachel discovers the tape and then watches the tape. The phone rings. Rachel hears a voice utter "seven days". Rachel seeks advice from her former boyfriend Noah Clay, a video analyst. Rachel finds out later that Aidan (her son with Noah) watched the tape and told her that he believed her. Rachel searches the tape for the lighthouse, and discovers that it is situated on Moesko Island. This was the residence of Anna Morgan, an evil horse breeder cursed to appear on the tape with the cursed name. When she investigates, Rachel discovers Anna had an adopted daughter named Samara who was possessed of the power to burn disturbing images into the minds of people, animals and objects. Rachel is introduced to Anna's widower Richard. He makes Rachel leave as shortly as she starts asking questions regarding Samara.
